Boys Golf: Belisle tied for first, Lake City boys sixth
Red Wing's Cecil Belisle was a stroke ahead after nine holes, and ended up tied after 18 to set up a showdown on Wednesday for the final round of the Class 2A state golf meet at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.
Belisle shot 34s on both the front and back nine, while Holy Family's Lincoln Cizek went 35-33 to tie the Winger sophomore. Jack Michel (Holy Family), Esten Stensrud (Minnewaska) and Jacob Zosel (Morris) are tied for second with 69s. Two others lurk with 70s, and a trio chases with 71s.
The Lake City boys team, sits in sixth after an opening-round 313. Blake (292), Detroit Lakes (294) and Holy Family (295) all went sub-300 to lead the pack after 18 holes. Hermantown (305) and St. Cloud Cathedral (310) hold the fourth and fifth spots.
Levi Herbst and Brennan Rothgarn had the low rounds of the day for the Tigers 77s, followed closely by Thomas Huettl's 78. Riley Fritz had the final score with an 81.
Cannon Falls' Addison Bahr is tied for 40th after a first-round 78.
The final round is Wednesday.
