Agencies conducting emergency simulation at Prairie Island nuclear plant
Residents near the Prairie Island nuclear plant may notice extra activity Tuesday June 28 in response to an emergency simulation. The exercise allows the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and other Minnesota and Wisconsin agencies to test their response in the event of an incident at the Red Wing plant.
A variety of field activities involving emergency responder vehicles will take place in proximity to the plant in Dakota and Goodhue counties of Minnesota and Pierce County in Wisconsin, according to a news release.
The exercise and preparedness plans will be reviewed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
