Brunch planned at St. James Hotel
Heidi Studer of Perham, Minnesota, will present “Defining Moments: History in the Making.” Everyone has moments that stand out as life-changing events, organizers said. She will share some of hers.
Special feature will be a fall silent auction. Bring baked good, crafts, etc.

Bonhoeffer group meets next month
The Bonhoeffer Society of Red Wing will not meet in October. The group, which meets at First Covenant Church, will reconvene at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 and begin discussing Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s letters and prayers from prison.
Open to anyone, the group discusses the life and writings of Bonhoeffer, one of the first Germans to recognize and resist Adolph Hitler’s capacity for evil. The Nazis hanged Bonhoeffer just before the end of World War II.
Christ Episcopal to bless animals
Christ Episcopal Church will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a Blessing of the Animals Service. It will be 2 p.m. Sunday Oct. 4 on the front lawn of the church. All are welcome.
Swedish meal offered in Bay City
Tabor Lutheran Church will hold its annual Swedish meatball supper Oct. 10 in the Bay City Village Hall. Serving will run 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
In View of God’s Mercy group meets
In View of God’s Mercy, addiction from a biblical perspective, holds meetings at 7 p.m. Saturdays at First Covenant Church, 2302 Twin Bluff Road. Fellowship, education, prayer and discussion are part of the program. For more information, call 651-301-1008.
Enjoy two meals
The Community Meal/Sunday Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 11 and Sunday Oct. 25 at First United Methodist Church. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will serve on Oct. 11 and the Church of St. Joseph Church will serve on Oct. 25.
The free meal is open to all.
Library books can be delivered
In cooperation with the Red Wing Public Library, Faith in Action volunteers are matched with individuals unable to get to the library. The volunteers will pick out books, deliver to an individual and then return them through the Book House Call program. Timing is arranged with the receivers and the volunteers.
