The public is invited to an open house Thursday, Dec. 14, in Lake City to learn more about the proposed Highway 61 reconstruction project scheduled for 2020 through downtown Lake City, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Lake City staff, MnDOT, and the city's consultant design team will be available to answer questions and gather input from 5-6:30 p.m. at City Hall in Lake City, 205 W. Center St.
People may drop by at any time during the session to offer feedback, ask questions and learn more about the project. No formal presentation is planned.
The Highway 61 reconstruction project in 2020 proposes to make the road a three-lane configuration that uses the middle lane for left turns. Sidewalk and other improvements are planned with the project being led by the City of Lake City.
