MnDOT holds meeting for Hwy. 52 curb work in Cannon Falls
Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Friday April 22 in Cannon Falls for people to learn more about a 10-day project to correct curbing on the Highway 52 east side interchange roundabout. The meeting will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the Cannon Falls City Council chambers, 918 River Road.
MnDOT officials will be on hand to discuss the project and explain the timelines and detour routes.
On Monday April 25, the Highway 52 northbound on and off ramp at County Road 24 will be closed while the curb on the interchange roundabout is corrected. Work is expected to be completed by May 3, weather permitting. Detour signs will direct motorists.
Workers will be adjusting the slope of the gutter and height of the curb, according to MnDOT. County Road 24 will be closed between the east frontage road and the west interchange ramps.
Northbound and southbound motorists on Highway 52 traveling to the east side of Highway52 in Cannon Falls can use the Highway 19 exit and travel east into town.
Northbound motorists traveling to the west side of Highway 52 in Cannon Falls should proceed north to the Highway 19 exit and then return to southbound Highway 52 to exit at County Road 24. The west interchange ramps will remain open during the project.
The detour for motorists on the west side of Highway 52 who want to travel north on Highway 52 from Road 24 is to exit south onto Highway 52 and go to the County Road 9 interchange, exit and return to Highway 52 north via the interchange.
