Hwy. 52 power line work postponed
Power line work scheduled this week on Highway 52 north of Zumbrota has been postponed until Monday Dec. 21 due to weather, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Tuesday. Crews will be pulling wire for the CapX2020 project across the highway.
During the delays, Highway 52 traffic will be narrowed to one lane in each direction and temporarily stopped near Goodhue County Road 7 (Welch Road). Traffic will be stopped for approximately 5-10 minutes while a helicopter supporting the work hovers over the traffic lanes. Delays are expected once every 40 minutes to one hour.
Tuesday, Dec. 22 is the backup day for the work, if inclement weather halts efforts scheduled for Monday. Work is expected to be completed in one day.
