Rechtzigel will not seek re-election to County Board
Goodhue County Commissioner Dan Rechtzigel announced Monday he will not run for another term in elections this fall.
Rechtzigel, of Kenyon, was first elected to County Board in 2004. He currently serves as chairman.
According to an email statement:
“I want to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the voters for allowing me the honor and privilege of serving you these past twelve years. This has been a truly rewarding experience, but I’m ready to take a break from all the meetings and shift back out of overdrive. The county is being managed well and is in good shape, and now is a good time to step aside and let others get involved.”
Rechtzigel represents the county's third district, including the townships of Warsaw, Holden, Wanamingo, Kenyon, Cherry Grove, Roscoe and Pine Island, and the cities of Dennison, Wanamingo, Kenyon and Pine Island.
His term expires January 2017.
