WABASHA — Motorists on Highway 61 between Lake City and Wabasha are likely to encounter short traffic delays beginning Monday, Dec. 4 while Minnesota Department of Transportation crews trim and remove trees adjacent to the highway.
Weather permitting, crews will be trimming and removing trees on both sides of the two-lane portion of the road that is north of Wabasha and south of Lake City. The work in Wabasha County will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dec. 4-8.
During this time, flaggers will stop traffic in the work zone while traffic from the opposite direction travels through. Once those vehicles have passed through, flaggers will allow the stopped traffic to proceed. Normal traffic will resume each day after the work is completed at approximately 3 p.m.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
