Goodhue County moves on from 621 W. Fourth St.

During closed session, Goodhue County Board weighed its options with the property at 621 W. Fourth St. and ultimately chose to go back to the drawing board.

County Attorney Steve Betcher quickly stated that commissioners had discussed the options Tuesday night for the property but decided it was in the county's best interest not to go forward with any sort of purchase.

The county had stated it would use the building for parking and potential long-term expansion in the area.

City of Red Wing officials voted during the council meeting Aug. 14 to cancel the purchase of the house owned by Bremseth Dental. Council members noted that the price tag of the home along with repairs had started to stretch outside their budget.
