Drug charges filed in meth case

A 51-year-old Red Wing man faces second-degree drug charges after allegedly selling methamphetamine to an undercover police informant on three separate occasions in June.

Lawrence Darryl Brown, 815 W. Fourth St., is facing one second-degree drug sales charge. He was booked into Goodhue County Adult Detention Center July 5.

According to a court complaint filed in Goodhue County District Court July 3, Brown first sold the informant 1 gram of meth on June 19. The transaction took place in the parking lot at Treasure Island Resort & Casino.

Brown then sold the informant 1.9 grams of meth on June 25. This transaction took place in a hotel room at Treasure Island, the complaint states.

Finally, Brown sold the informant .7 grams of meth June 26 in the casino's parking lot, the complaint states.

In all, Brown allegedly sold the informant about 3.3 grams of meth. Brown's prior conviction record shows a previous felony level controlled substance conviction.

Brown will make his next court appearance Aug. 2.
