Woman found guilty of making threats to judges
ELLSWORTH -- Here's something you don't see every day in court: Two active district court judges took the stand Tuesday to testify in a trial involving a woman accused of threatening them.
The Pierce County woman was found guilty of felonies for verbally threatening Judges Robert Wing and James Duvall, who were involved in a previous case in which Tally Rowan, 34, was found guilty and sentenced for police battery, resisting or obstructing an officer and carrying a concealed weapon.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department learned of the threats in late April when a fellow inmate was alleging Rowan, who was in the Pierce County jail due to the previous case, was making verbal death threats toward the judges.
In late May, investigators interviewed another inmate who shared the same cellblock with Rowan and who said she made those same threats.
Eventually Rowan was charged and both judges ended up testifying to their roles in Rowan's initial case.
` A sentencing hearing for Rowan's most recent convictions has not been set.
