HOUZZ the best ... Bella Casa

Doreen Eichman, Linda Kelly and Cheryl Mohn of Bella Casa Design Studio recently won Best of HOUZZ 2017 honors.

Bella Casa Design Studio ranks among the top home remodeling professionals, according to HOUZZ Inc. The 2017 Best of HOUZZ distinction comes through an annual survey and analysis of more than 40 million HOUZZ users.

HOUZZ is platform for home renovation and design. The site is a homeowner-to-homeowner guide to the home builders, architects, interior designers, landscape pros and residential remodeling professionals — from cabinetry or roofing to paint.

The Best Of HOUZZ is awarded annually in three categories: Design, Customer Service and Photography. The Red Wing studio was chosen in the category for local designers and retailers.

A Best of HOUZZ 2017 badge appears on winners' profiles.

• Josephson's Clothing Store and owner Tom Withers have received the Diamond Award from Minneapolis-based Savvi Formalwear. The award is presented to a select group of authorized Savvi Formalwear dealers who demonstrate great sales achievement and outstanding customer service. Josephson's serves the Red Wing community with a complete formalwear department, serving both wedding and prom couples.

• Physician assistant Doug Larsen has joined the Emergency Medicine Department at Mayo Clinic Health System.

"I look forward to helping patients who need emergency care in Red Wing and Cannon Falls," Larsen said. "From injuries to life-threatening conditions, I enjoy helping patients who need immediate medical attention."

In his spare time, Larsen enjoys spending time with family, hiking and being outdoors.

Larsen attended the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse for his undergraduate degree and received his master's degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed a residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and is a board-certified physician assistant. He also is a fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. He recently received a specialty credential of Certificate of Added Qualifications from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, as reported in the RE Jan. 18.

• AgStar Financial Services has received the 2017 Seal of Distinction for its commitment to creating and maintaining a positive work environment. Sponsored by WorldatWork, a nonprofit HR association and compensation authority, the Seal of Distinction is a mark of excellence identifying employers that provide a distinct, mutually beneficial workplace experience.

WorldatWork annually evaluates companies across North America on programs, policies and practices designed to strengthen employee engagement that, in turn, leads to business success.

AgStar is among 160 organizations receiving the 2017 Seal of Distinction. This is the fourth year in a row that AgStar has received the distinction.

John Hemstock, senior vice president of talent and business technology strategies at AgStar, said flexible workplace policies and investments in technology to accommodate telecommuting are some of the initiatives to make AgStar an employer of choice. Recipients will be honored May 7-10 in Washington, D.C.
