Business After Hours will be July 30

30 p.m. July 30 at 910 Main St. The businesses there will join together to host a grill-out and kickoff for River City Days. Those include Musty-Barnhart Agency, Express Employment Professionals, Edward Jones-Paul Reding, Sherwin Williams, Blue Ribbon Travel, Star Realty & Siewert Construction, and ACCRA Home Health.

The Red Wing Royal Ambassador candidates also will attend.

UWRF center offers new business training

The Entrepreneurial Training Program at the Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is offering a 10-week course called "How to Get Your Business Off the Ground."

The course takes participants through the steps of starting a business, from marketing to finances to tax and legal issues.

The course runs 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from Aug. 6 to Sept. 24 at the university campus. It costs $250, which includes textbooks and materials.

Dairy tour is July 30

The Pierce and St. Croix County UW-Extension Dairy Heifer Housing Tour will be July 30 starting at 10 a.m.

The first stop will be Mike and Darcy Webster Dairy just east of El Paso, Wis. Stop two will be the Peterson Dairy, two miles southwest of River Falls, at 1:30 p.m.

Engineers who helped with the facilities will be on site to describe the buildings and answer questions.

Sponsors ask tour participants to arrive at the sites only at the scheduled times. Signs will be posted along roads near both farms.
