Clifton crash sends 4 to hospital

TOWN OF CLIFTON -- A two-vehicle crash in the town of Clifton late Saturday afternoon sent four people to area hospitals.

At about 4:54 p.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injury on County Road F, south of County Road MM.

A green Chevy Silverado, driven by Chad W. Rice of Ellsworth, was rear-ended by a red Ford F150, driven by Shanalee Rossow of River Falls.

Three children in the Ford were taken to Hudson Hospital for medical evaluations.

A passenger in the Chevy -- Lila Rice, 66, of Red Wing -- was taken to Regions Hospital by EMS with undisclosed injuries. A Regions spokeswoman said Rice had been admitted and discharged from the hospital.

The accident remains under investigation. PCSO was assisted on the scene by Prescott Fire and River Falls EMS.
