Hudson man airlifted after Red Wing-area crash

A Hudson man was airlifted after an apparent alcohol-related crash Thursday in the Red Wing area.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the crash victim as 49-year-old Jonathon S. Norman. He was flown to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester with serious injuries.

Troopers reported that alcohol was detected in Norman’s system and that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

According to State Patrol reports, the crash occurred at 11:36 p.m. when Norman’s 2002 Mercury Sable ran off the roadway and rolled. The report lists the location of the crash as Goodhue County but does not indicate in which community the crashed occurred along Highway 61.

Red Wing firefighters and Mayo One assisted on the scene.
