A possible road rage incident Tuesday in the Town of Ellsworth sent one man to the hospital after his car went in the ditch.

Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a one-vehicle crash on 710th Street at 450th Avenue at 3:03 p.m. just south of Ellsworth village limits.

A 2010 Ford Taurus, driven by 19-year-old Bellechester, Minn. resident Favio Jurado Hernandez, and a 1999 Dodge Ram driven by 18-year-old Joseph William Lund of Hager City were traveling southbound on 710th Street when they struck each other.

Hernandez’s vehicle entered the ditch on the opposite side of the road, where it struck an embankment. He was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was transported to Red Wing Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Ellsworth Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
