Pickup crash sends Hager man to Regions

A 30-year-old man from Hager City was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries late Tuesday afternoon after his pickup truck left 290th Avenue near Diamond Bluff and struck a tree.

Tanner Thornton was the driver of a truck traveling eastbound on 290th Avenue, just east of 970th Street when the vehicle swerved off the south side of the road. Thornton apparently overcorrected, crossed both lanes and ascended a hill on the north side of the road and struck a large tree.

Pierce County sheriff's deputy Jean Spletstoser said in a press release that Thornton was transported to the Red Wing Airport by Red Wing Ambulance and was then taken to Regions.

The accident was reported at 3:52 p.m., Dec. 31st.

Dick's Auto of Hager City later removed the truck.
