Highway 10 crash injures two

Two Wisconsin men were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 10 about one mile east of 170th Street in Union Township, according to authorities.

Daniel Albright, 33, from River Falls, was eastbound on Highway 10 when he drove left of center and struck Carlos Maciel Leijo, 22, from Maiden Rock, as he was driving westbound, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

Albright was transported to the Durand (Wis.) Hospital with undetermined injuries; Maciel Leijo was transported to a landing zone in Ellsworth and flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries; and three other occupants in Maciel Leijo’s vehicle were not injured, according to a press release.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. Ellsworth Area Ambulance, Plum City EMS, Plum City Fire Department, Durand Ambulance and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted on the scene.
