UPDATE: Man pulled from Mississippi River at Red Wing

A passerby pulled a Rochester man from the Mississippi River near Levee Park on Saturday afternoon.

Oscar Haddorff, 56, was pulled from the water and Red Wing Ambulance took him to Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.

The 911 call came around 1:35 p.m., according to Red Wing Fire Department Capt. Scott Will.

"We got there and he was already out of the water," Will said. "From what I understand a passerby looked out and saw a man bobbing, so he jumped in and pulled him out."

A bystander was administering CPR when authorities arrived, the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office said.

Firefighters and paramedics then provided advanced life support at the scene and transported the patient shortly before 4 p.m. Will said. The man, who was described as in serious condition, was later flown by Mayo One to Rochester.

Red Wing Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources assisted at the scene.
