Goodhue County crash claims man, 41
A 41-year-old Faribault, Minn., man was killed Saturday after the vehicle he was driving struck a tree in rural Goodhue County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Troopers said the man, identified Sunday as Thomas T. Spaulding, was westbound on Highway 246 - located in Holden Township - at 2:02 p.m. when his 1994 Chevrolet Lumina left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
There were no passengers in the single-car crash. The driver was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
