UPDATED: Snowmobile crash claims Beldenville woman

A Beldenville woman died Saturday at River Falls Area Hospital as the result of injuries suffered in a snowmobile crash that happened just after 1 p.m. near Clyde's Corner Bar in Beldenville.

Peggy Lashley, 68, was traveling northbound on a snowmobile on 740th Street when she apparently lost control while attempting to turn into the parking lot at Clyde's. The snowmobile traveled up and over a snowbank and struck a parked vehicle.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department was notified of the accident at 1:12 p.m.

Lashley was transported by Ellsworth Area Ambulance to River Falls Area Hospital.

Mrs. Lashley attended the Roberts Public School and St. Croix Central in Hammond where she graduated. She worked for Smeads for 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was also the former owner of the Water's Edge Bar in River Falls for 12 years.

Her obituary states she loved riding motorcycles, gardening and being outside. She enjoyed walking her dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Ken; children Scott (Kim) Quist of Dorchester, Brenda (Travis) Ziech of Rock Springs, and Lisa Quist of Reedsburg and other relatives.

A funeral service has been set for 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10th at Cashman Hill Funeral Home in River Falls, with Pr. John Henning officiating. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.

Pierce County Sheriff's officers were also assisted at the crash scene by the State Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation.
