Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council awards over $300K in grants
The Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council announced Nov. 14 that it awarded 52 grants for a total of $311,525 in funding to applicants throughout southeastern Minnesota. The SEMAC region includes the counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha and Winona.
In Goodhue County, Red Wing Arts received a $10,000 Arts and Cultural Heritage grant and the Zumbrota Area Arts Council received a $4,000 General Operating Support grant. The Plainview Public Library in Wabasha County received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant.
SEMAC is the State Arts Board-designated granting authority for local/regional arts producing and sponsoring organizations and disburses funds allocated for this purpose by the Minnesota Legislature.
