Highway 52 delays expected this weekend for bridge demolition in Zumbrota
Motorists on Highway 52 at Zumbrota are expected to experience traffic slow downs beginning Friday evening, Oct. 13, through early Monday morning, Oct. 16, as crews demolish the old Highway 58 bridge over Highway 52, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Crews will be taking the old bridge down and dropping portions into sand on Highway 52. They are expected to remove the bridge by 5 a.m. Oct. 16 and reopen the highway to traffic.
During the demolition, traffic on Highway 52 will be routed up and down the interchange ramps and through the roundabouts at each side of the new bridge. Motorists should plan for additional travel time or take an alternate route to avoid this section.
The work is part of the replacement of the Highway 58 bridge. Completion of the $5.6 million project is scheduled for this fall.
