Red Wing receives grant for Barn Bluff
The City of Red Wing is pleased to announce that it has received a generous contribution of $268,301.59 from the Evelyn Sweasy Charitable Fund to be used for Barn Bluff Trailhead Restoration.
The city completed the He Mni Can — Barn Bluff Park Master Plan in June 2016 and is preparing project plans and funding applications for implementation of key elements of the plan. "On behalf of the citizens of Red Wing, I want to convey our deepest thanks and gratitude for your gift toward the Barn Bluff Trailhead Restoration project. Your donation will allow the city to accelerate planned improvements to the Barn Bluff Park entry and trailhead area," Mayor Sean Dowse stated in an April 27 letter to Evelyn Sweasy.
This financial support will help bolster the pending application to the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks & Trail Commission that makes funding decisions concerning state park and trail legacy grant funding.
