Arts Board awards grants to local groups
Sound Support for String Music and Zumbrota Community Band were awarded grants March 21 by the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council. They are among 39 grants totalling $154,650 awarded to regional applicants.
Sound Support for String Music received a $4,000 general operating support grant for SoundStrings Summer Violin Experience, while Zumbrota Community Band received a $3,700 general operating support grant for director salary and sheet music expenses in 2017.
SEMAC is the State Arts Board-designated granting authority for local/regional arts producing and sponsoring organizations, and disburses funds allocated for this purpose by the Legislature. The SEMAC region includes Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha and Winona counties.
