Red Wing in the running for outdoor concert grant
Red Wing Arts Association is competing to bring a 10-12 week live music series to town next year.
If the city is among the top finalists of a nationwide vote, RWAA will receive $25,000 in matching funds to present the Levitt AMP [Your City] Music Series — a minimum of 10 free outdoor concerts in 2017.
The program is made possible by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation. The foundation "is dedicated to reinvigorating America's public spaces through creative placemaking and creating opportunities for everyone to experience the performing arts," according to its website.
RWAAs proposal is one of two in Minnesota, the other made by Walker Area Foundation in Walker, Minn. Red Wing was ranked 48th in the vote as of Friday afternoon, Nov. 18.
Voting takes place online until Nov. 21. For more information and to vote, visit grant.levittamp.org.
