Highway 52 traffic changes begin Wednesday

New traffic patterns will begin Sept. 4 on Highway 52 between Olmsted County Road 12/31 and Goodhue County Road 11, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The new traffic pattern will shift from lane closures to routing motorists on both northbound lanes with the use of temporary crossovers. The switch is needed so crews can begin culvert construction under the Highway 52 southbound lanes, MnDOT said.

Once construction is complete traffic will change again; motorists will be routed on both southbound lanes while crews continue culvert construction under the northbound lanes.

The construction is part of the Elk Run Interchange project. For more on that project, visit or call 1-866-729-3995.
