Book Club for Women

Join in for conversation about "The Dinner" by Herman Koch, 10:30 a.m. Friday June 7. The group is facilitated by Jane Whiteside.

Dance at the Elks Club

Bring a friend and dance to the music of The Key Notes, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday June 9. Cost $7, all ages welcome.

Needed: Econo Foods receipts

Red Wing Area Seniors can receive $1,000 from Econo Foods for turning in $150,000 worth of receipts. Each one helps and only $17,857.36 is needed to reach the goal. Don't forget to turn your receipts in.

Conversational Spanish

Lavoie House leads a group on improving conversational Spanish skills 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Start anytime.

Trips, Travels and Tours - Prairie's Edge Casino

Head to the casino in Granite Falls, Wednesday July 17 to Thursday July 18. Cost $60 per person, based on double occupancy.

The following games will be played: Duplicate Bridge - 12:15 p.m. Thursday June 6; 500 - 1 p.m. Monday June 10; Scrabble - 1 p.m. Wednesdays; Fun Bridge - 10 a.m. Wednesdays; Chess - 1 p.m. Thursdays

Support services offered

Several support groups and services are available.

*Hearing screenings will be given from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday June 12. The service is sponsored by Better Hearing Aid Centers.

*The Men Only Group will meet 9 a.m. Thursday June 13.

*Stroke support group will meet 3 p.m. Thursday June 13.

*Foot care clinic will be available Thursdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. with a home health nurse. To schedule an appointment, call Red Wing Homecare and Hospice at 651-385-3410. The cost is $34.

Medical equipment available

Gently used medical equipment is available at the Senior Center to use for up to three months during a period of medical convalescence or short-term disability.

Items include wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, commodes and more. If you need something, visit or call the center. A $20 donation is requested to help with the ongoing program costs.

Jordan Towers

Jordan Towers are located in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in downtown Red Wing. All events listed are held at Jordan Tower I or II unless otherwise noted.

Join the exercise class

Exercise class takes place at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday in the Sailstad Room. Everyone is encouraged to only do the exercises that they feel comfortable doing.

Tune in weekly 10:05 a.m. Thursday's to KCUE 1250 AM station and hear helpful tips, tricks and discussions from Sara Larson, Senior Resource Specialist at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. This month's programming includes "Ground Breaking at St. Crispin with Megan Ramaker" June 6; a Father's Day tribute, June 13; learn about heat and humidity, June 20; and get senior home improvement tipr from guest Cheryl Mohn of Bella Casa, June 27.
