MNDoT: Dangerous ice possible on Hwy 52
Drivers are being urged to avoid Highway 52 southbound between Cannon Falls and Zumbrota Tuesday night because of dangerous ice.
Blowing and drifting snow may also make for dangerous driving conditions, MNDoT says.
Both MNDoT and the Minnesota State Patrol are advising motorists to slow down and take caution on all Minnesota roads this evening, warning of scattered patches of ice.
MNDoT offers the following tips for safe winter driving:
- Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
- Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
- Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
- Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
