Red Wing City Council strategic planning process begins
Red Wing City Council met Monday in the first of four workshops to discuss and develop a long-term strategic plan. It will focus on big-picture goals for Red Wing within the next 15 years, a document Council Administrator Kay Kuhlmann said is long overdue.
Before the next workshop, staff will have meetings and take a survey on topics including the strengths and weaknesses of the city, key issues it is facing and ideas or suggestions. Council members will review the results at the next work session and have a similar discussion of their own.
The third workshop will involve organizing ideas for the plan, and the fourth will be an opportunity to finalize the strategic plan before the council officially votes on it at a meeting.
The workshops and process will be facilitated by Dave Unmacht from public sector consulting firm Springsted and will take place over the next few months.
