Both northbound lanes of Highway 61 near Colvill Park in Red Wing are open, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced.

Southbound traffic will remain single lane while maintenance crews finish repairs to bridges over Nymphara Lane and East Fifth Street. Crews are repairing railings and replacing the concrete center medians and concrete bridge decks. Motorists will still be able to access Colvill Park and the waste water treatment plant.

Work is scheduled to be complete by the end of August, weather permitting.

Highway 19 bridge detour starts Sunday in Cannon Falls

Motorists can expect a detour on Highway 19 in Cannon Falls beginning Sunday, as crews close the Highway 19 bridge for demolition. The Minnesota Department of Transportation will route traffic north of Byllesby Reservoir using Highway 56 to County Road 88, then County Road 17 to Highway 20 and back to Highway 19 in downtown Cannon Falls.

In addition to replacing the bridge, crews will widen the bridge, add a sidewalk, replace the bridge approaches on Highway 19, lengthen the acceleration and deceleration lanes on Highway 52, and widen and extend the southbound right turn lane on Highway 19.

Highway 52 lane closures north of Cannon Falls also begin Sunday. Crews will work through October on repairs between Goodhue County Road 24 and Dakota Country Road 86.
