Health insurance costs are up
Red Wing School District's health insurance costs are 19 percent higher than one year ago.
As more employees move toward health insurance plans with higher premiums, future renewal rates should be lower, Finance Director Brad Johnson told School Board members Monday.
The teachers union agreed to a restructured insurance plan in last year's contract, as have other organized groups. Johnson said efforts are under way to switch all employee groups to new plans that cost the district less money.
