Teen in critical condition following rollover crash
A spokeswoman from Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul reported that Gabrielle Ryan, 17, Beldenville, is in critical condition there after she was thrown from her vehicle during a Thursday morning one-vehicle rollover crash.
The crash occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on County Road J near Beldenville, just past the intersection of 790th Street in the town of Trimbelle,
Officials with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department say Ryan was driving a compact Pontiac car west on County Road J when she failed to negotiate a curve.
The car entered the ditch on the north side of the road, struck a driveway embankment and then vaulted into a guardrail.
The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest in a farm yard at W8050 County Road J, according to witnesses at the scene.
The teen was airlifted by Life Link Helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries and was then transferred to Gillette Children's Hospital.
The Ellsworth Ambulance Service assisted at the scene and the accident is under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
