U.S. Rep. John Kline was scheduled to give a brief speech this morning on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. Kline will honor Red Wing for being designated a distinctive vacation destination by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The speech, scheduled for sometime between 9 and 10 a.m., will be televised live on C-SPAN. The congressman's remarks will also be entered into the Congressional Record.
"The National Trust for Historic Preservation is confirming what those of us in Minnesota's Second District already know -- that Red Wing's impressive architecture and enviable natural environment make it a unique vacation destination," Kline said.
The congressional schedule is subject to change. If Kline does not give the speech today, he plans on giving it during the same time period on Thursday.
