Cuban reverend to preach in Red Wing

First Presbyterian Church, Red Wing, has invited the Rev. Alberto Padin of the Presbyterian Church in Havana, Cuba, to preach at 9:30 a.m. June 7. Services will be followed by a reception and slide presentation with a question-and-answer period in Fellowship Hall. The public is invited to attend.

Writer will present ‘From Mess to Message’

The River Valley Christian Women’s Connection will hold its “Stretch into Summer” brunch at 10:30 a.m. Monday June 8 in the St. James Hotel’s Laurentine Room.

Kelly Davis will present “From Mess to Message.” A writer from Moline, Ill., she said she spent 30 years in a cult and will talk about how and why people get deceived. Her book “Breaking Free of Guilt and Shame” will be available.

She also will provide this month’s special feature, an exercise demonstration titled “Stretch One.”

Bishop to address English Lutheran

Bishop Rick Hoyme will preach at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, at 9 a.m. Sunday June 14. There will be only one service.

Cannon Falls churches plan day-camp VBS

English and St. Ansgar’s Lutheran churches in Cannon Falls will hold vacation Bible school together June 15-20.

The day-camp format will include classes for preschoolers from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and for kindergartners through fifth-graders from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. VBS for all children will conclude at noon Friday. Register at either church.

Cozzens to preside

St. Pius V Catholic Church, Cannon Falls, will hold Mass and celebrate a shrine dedication with Bishop Cozzens June 7. In addition, there will be a parish brunch.
