Young Life hosts Christian musician

Matt Baird from the Christian rock band Spoken will perform an acoustic guitar concert at 7:30 p.m. May 24 at Conerstone Community Church, 420 W. Third St. The all-ages concert is sponsored by Red Wing Young Life; a free-will offering will be accepted.

Lutheran Scavenger Hunt is May 22

The Tri-Lutheran Scavenger Hunt for grades 6 to 12 will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 22. The hunt will start at St. Paul's Lutheran Church where youths will break into teams and scour downtown for items. Pizza dinner will follow.

United Lutheran and First Lutheran churches' youth groups also are participating. Friends are welcome.

Graduates will be honored

First Lutheran Church, 615 W. Fifth St., will honor high school seniors during 9:30 a.m. worship Sunday May 19. There are 11 graduates. Each will receive a quilt made by the FLC Quilters.

Nurse available

The parish nurse at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, will be available from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Sunday May 19 in the downstairs front entrance. Through this ministry people may have blood pressure and heart rate checks as well as receive health information.

Peace with Justice Sunday is May 26

First United Methodist Church will observe Peace with Justice Sunday on May 26. Linda Warren Seely, an attorney whose Christian faith calls her to help people settle disagreements outside the legal process, will speak.

Peace with Justice celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and witnesses to God's demand for a faithful, just, disarmed and secure world. The special offering benefits several ministries.

St. Paul's to hold picnic

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will hold a congregational picnic following the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday. This also is the last day of Sunday school, and children will singing with the adult choir the service.

Sunday supper will be served

Sunday Supper/Loaves and Fishes is a full meal prepared and served free of charge and open to everyone. It is being served at 5 p.m. Sunday May 19 at the First United Methodist Church, 403 East Ave.

The Republican Eagle prefers to have people submit items via email, including a phone number in case there are questions. The deadline is noon Wednesday.
