Forever Young meets March 22

Forever Young will meet at noon Tuesday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall. Bring a dish to share and your own table service.

This is March Food Share. A representative from the Red Wing Area Food Shelf, located in the church basement, will present the program.

Loaves and Fishes offered March 27

Sunday Supper/Loaves and Fishes is a full dinner open and free to everyone. It will be served at 5 p.m. March 27 at the First United Methodist Church, 403 East Ave.

St. Ansgar's plans youth mission trip

The youth of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls, are planning a summer mission trip to Thunder Bay, Canada. The church will hold a "garage" sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 to support youth programs.

Lenten worship services planned

There will be Lenten worship at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal each Wednesday during Lent. Loose offering will go to Community Care Fund.

Churches Around the Park will hold Lenten worship at 5 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas Kommers of St. Joseph's Catholic Church will preach.

Faith-based Yoga planned for Fridays

Christian-breathed Yoga will run Fridays from April 1 through May 27 at United Lutheran Church. Clare Polencheck will meet incorporate donations, meditation and prayer into the sessions.People will stretch and strengthen with the spirit, she said.

Participants will meet from 5:40 to 6:40 p.m. in the youth room; enter via the Fifth Street entrance. Donations of $8 to 10 are suggested with 75 going to the Red Wing Area Food Shelf.

Peterson gives farewell talk Sunday at LDS Chapel

Jason Peterson, 19, Hager City, has accepted a call to serve a full-time two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spokane, Wash. He will speak at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at the LDS chapel in Red Wing, and 10 days later he will report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.

"I have been looking forward to serving a mission my whole life and I can't wait to serve the Lord's children in the most meaningful way possible," he said.

The son of Sean and Lisa Peterson, Jason was homeschooled for most of his life, and spent the last half of his senior year attending high school and college classes in Nauvoo, Ill.

Following his mission, Jason plans to study communications at Brigham Young University in Provo.
