Literature briefs

Story times continue

Summer story times run through July 25.

•Baby Lapsit Story Time for babies 18 months and younger is Mondays at 10:30 a.m. It includes rhymes, stories, rhythm and music.

•Family Story Time is Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and includes themed summer stories, music and rhymes. All ages are welcome. No story time June 25.

•Day Care Story Time is Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome, and families who cannot attend the Wednesday story time can attend too.

•Summertime Jammie Jams invite kids of all ages to come in their pajamas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday July 9.

All programs are free and open to the public. There will be no programing the week of July 4.

Summer activities offered

The Science Museum of Minnesota will offer two programs for kids on Wednesday June 25 at the Red Wing Public Library. “Dinosaurs” will be presented at 10:30 a.m. in the Foot Room for preschool and early elementary children, and “Electricity” for children entering second through sixth grade will be at 1 p.m. in the Foot Room.

On Thursday June 26, kids and teens can view “The Nut Job” movie at 2 p.m. in the Foot Room.

The Zinghoppers will perform Friday June 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the Foot Room.

How well do you know “The Fault in Our Stars?”

Teens going into grades 6 through 12 are eligible to enter a trivia challenge at the Red Wing Public Library on the book and movie “The Fault in Our Stars.” Trivia is available online at or in the Young Adult section of the library. Top entries will go into a drawing for two movie passes.

Tech clinic available

Bring devices such as iPads, Kindles, Nooks or other tablets to the Red Wing library on Thursdays between 1 and 2 p.m. to get help with downloading library eBooks and ask other questions of the library’s tech experts.
