Find out why love is so important at this month’s Senior Forum. The topic is “Ageless Love” at 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 20. Bruce McBeath, Ph.D., facilitates the group.

Cleaning out your closets? Donate

If you clean out your closets or cupboards this winter, bring your extra items to Annadee’s Closet, 321 Potter St. The thrift store is owned and operated by Red Wing Area Seniors and proceeds help provide the programs and service.

Gentle yoga open to senior citizens

Learn gentle yoga positions with certified instructor Michelle Hoffman from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays. Cost for six sessions is $45 for individuals, $80 for couples.

Yoga can reduce chronic health conditions, improve sleep, increase energy, restore balance, improve attitude and overall quality of life. Start anytime.

Cards and games planned

Here's the schedule of games to be played: Euchre – 12:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 17; Duplicate Bridge – 11:15 a.m. Thursday Feb. 20; Cribbage – 1 p.m. Tuesdays; Scrabble and Chess – 1 p.m. Wednesdays.

Several support groups and services are available.

•Free blood pressure checks are offered from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Monday Feb. 17 in the Wellness Room.

•NAPS: Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors will be available 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 18. Women and men 60 years of age or older, who live in Minn. and meet income guidelines, may be eligible to receive a monthly food package. For more information, contact Channel One Food Bank. •Memory Loss support group meets at 1:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 20.

•Parkinson’s support group meets at 2 p.m. Thursday Feb. 20.

Jordan Towers

Jordan Towers are located in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in downtown Red Wing. All events listed are held at Jordan Tower I or II unless otherwise noted.

Join the exercise class

Exercise class takes place at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday in the Sailstad Room. Everyone is encouraged to only do the exercises that they feel comfortable doing.

Class, support group to meet

Several support groups and services are available.

•Bone Builders meets at 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesday in the Jordan I café. This is a free volunteer-led, weight-based class meant to reverse the effect of osteoporosis.

•Monthly diabetes support group will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 18 in the café at Jordan Towers. The service is offered by St. Brigid’s Hi-Park volunteers.

Dementia group will meet

The Alzheimer's support group will meet 6 p.m. Thursday Feb. 20 in the community room.
