Bells of the Bluff auditions set
Bells of the Bluff, an outreach ministry of First Lutheran Church, will hold auditions for the 2017-18 season at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Red Wing church.

St. Joe's of Miesville at Little Log House
St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Miesville is operating a lunch stand at the Little Log House Antique Power Show this weekend. Proceeds go to church projects.
The grounds are off Highway 61 between Miesville and Hastings.
Work begins to fair stand
English Lutheran Church of Ellsworth will begin prepping today for the Pierce County Fair. Soup is being made throughout the day. Help is needed chopping vegetables and cutting up meat until 7 p.m. Gravy is on the docket for Monday, Aug. 8, and Thursday, Aug. 10
The food booth raises 10 percent of the congregation's budget.
The fair runs Aug. 10-13.
Interfaith group helps others
Faith in Action in Red Wing is an interfaith volunteer program serving seniors and those in distressed circumstances. The organization's goal is to help individuals in the community remain independent.
All services are provided by caring volunteers, with no charge to the recipient. Services include local transportation, friendly visiting, library books, respite care and caregiver support group. The only out-of-town transportation offered is for radiation treatments.

Library books can be delivered
In cooperation with the Red Wing Public Library, Faith in Action volunteers are matched with individuals unable to get to the library. The volunteers will pick-out books, deliver to an individual and then return them through the Book House Call program. Timing is arranged with the receivers and the volunteers. Temporary respite care available
Faith in Action volunteers will provide short-term relief for a caregiver. They do not provide care services, but a caring presence to relieve the caregiver to attend a support group, shop, or enjoy a personal activity.

Take the Road to Recovery
Faith in Action offers the Road to Recovery program. This is the only out-of-town transportation service provided by Faith in Action in Red Wing and is for individuals receiving radiation treatments for cancer.
The office coordinates with family, church, and public health in assuring the patient has adequate transportation from Red Wing to treatment at Minneapolis or Rochester. For information, call 651-327-2400.
