Worship in Central Park wraps up this weekend
Churches Around the Park will hold the final outdoor worship service for this summer at 6 p.m. Sunday Aug. 23 in Red Wing’s Central Park. First United Methodist will be the host congregation and Pastor Justin Boeding of United Lutheran will preach. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. People are encouraged to bring picnics to enjoy before the service.

Month’s final Sunday Supper is this weekend
The Community Meal/Sunday Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Sunday Aug. 23 at First United Methodist Church.
Members of First Covenant Church will prepare serve the meal, which is free meal and open to all.

Sunday Fun Day set at First Covenant
First Covenant Church, 2302 Twin Bluff Road, will hold Sunday Fun Day this Sunday. Join members for worship at 10:30 a.m. and stay for the free food, games, prizes and fun for the whole family.

Interfaith group is there to help others
Faith in Action in Red Wing is an interfaith volunteer program serving seniors and those in distressed circumstances. The organization’s goal is to help individuals in the community remain independent.
All services are provided by caring volunteers, with no charge to the recipient. Services include local transportation, out-of-town transportation for medical purposes, friendly visiting, library books, respite care and caregiver support group.

Library books can be delivered
In cooperation with the Red Wing Public Library, Faith in Action volunteers are matched with individuals unable to get to the library. The volunteers will pick out books, deliver to an individual and then return them through the Book House Call program. Timing is arranged with the receivers and the volunteers. Respite care available
Faith in Action volunteers will provide short-term relief for a caregiver. They do not provide care services, but a caring presence to relieve the caregiver to attend a support group, shop, or enjoy a personal activity.
The respite can be two to four hours. For information, call 651-327-2400.
