Library books can be delivered to homes

In cooperation with the Red Wing Public Library, Faith in Action volunteers are matched with individuals unable to get to the library. The volunteers will pick out books, deliver to an individual and then return them through the Book House Call program. Timing is arranged with the receivers and the volunteers. Three Community Meal/Sunday Suppers set

The Community Meal/Sunday Supper will be served three times this month at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

On Sunday June 14, the First United Methodist Church’s Men’s Cooking Group will prepare the meal.

On June 21, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church volunteers will serve. First Covenant Church will serve on June 28.

Do handwork to help those needing comfort

People who knit or crochet are invited to help make prayer shawls. They are blessed in prayer and made available to those who need healing and encouragement.

Groups will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday June 11 at 1845 Bohmbach Drive; 5:30 p.m. Tuesday June 16 at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth; and 5:30 p.m. Thursday June 18 at First Lutheran Church, Red Wing.

Interfaith offers rides, visits and support

Faith in Action in Red Wing is an interfaith volunteer program serving seniors and those in distressed circumstances. The organization’s goal is to help individuals in the community remain independent.

All services are provided by caring volunteers, with no charge to the recipient. Services include local transportation, out-of-town transportation for medical purposes, friendly visiting, respite care, caregiver support group and
