‘Just for Parents’ set

St. Paul’s will play host to “Just For Parents” at 6 p.m. Wednesday April 8. This program will address mental illness and how to better understand it.

United offers study hour

“New Claiming Your Place at the Fire” will begin April 9 at United Lutheran Church. Join Pastor Karl Rydholm for a six-week study designed to give adults an opportunity to embrace life as a gift. The group will use the book “Claiming Your Place at the Fire: Living the Second Half of your Life on Purpose” by Richard J. Leider and David A. Shapiro.

The group will explore such questions as: Who am I? Where do I belong? What do I care about? What is my purpose?

The study will be held six consecutive Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.

River Valley Christian Women's Connection

Explore Bonhoeffer

The Bonhoeffer Society of Red Wing will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday April 11 at First Covenant Church. Open to anyone, the group discusses his life and writings.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was one of the first Germans to recognize and resist Adolph Hitler’s capacity for evil. The Nazis hanged Bonhoeffer just before the end of World War II.

SE Deanery meets April 9

The Southeast Deanery of the Council of Catholic Women will hold its spring meeting Thursday April 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Vermillion, Minnesota. St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women President Lucy Jonson will speak about recent travels to Africa.

The business meeting begins 9 a.m. before Jonson’s presentation at 10 a.m. There also will be an 11:30 a.m. Mass followed by lunch. Cost is $8.
