Belgian waffle breakfast is Sunday

Dad’s Belgian Waffles will serve breakfast Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Red Wing. The menu includes sausages, beverages and eight kinds of syrup plus whipped topping.

Hours are 8 a.m. to noon in the fellowship hall. The cost is $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Children ages 6 to 10 pay $4.50; younger children eat free.

Sunday supper will be served

Community Meal/Sunday Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Sunday Feb. 15 at First United Methodist Church, 403 East Ave.

Members of First Covenant Church will serve this weekend’s meal. Local congregations and organizations take turns preparing the food.

This is a full meal prepared and served free of charge and open to everyone.

Potlucks planned through Lent

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Frontenac and Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Florence will hold midweek Lenten worship services starting Ash Wednesday. Services at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s begin and 7:45 p.m. at Immanuel, both followed by potlucks.

The theme this year is “Crosswords.”

Pancake breakfast planned

New River Assembly of God will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday Feb. 22 in the gym.

Free-will donations will be collected. Funds will go to support the summer youth mission trip.

Grace, St. John’s hold join Lenten services

Grace and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Churches of rural Goodhue will alternate Lenten services Wednesdays Feb. 18 through March 25. Each evening will start with at 6 p.m. soup supper followed by 7 p.m. worship. Services will be Feb. 18, March 4 and March 18 at Grace and Feb. 25, 11 and 25 at St. John’s.

Preview of Financial Peace University is Sunday

United Lutheran Church in Red Wing will be offering Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.

This money-managing course will meet nine Mondays, beginning March 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. A course preview will be presented at 9:45 a.m. Sunday Feb. 15 during the fellowship hour.

Library books can be delivered

In cooperation with the Red Wing Public Library, Faith in Action volunteers are matched with individuals unable to get to the library. The volunteers will pick-out books, deliver to an individual and then return them through the Book House Call program. Timing is arranged with the receivers and the volunteers. Take the Road to Recovery

Faith in Action offers the Road to Recovery program. This is the only out-of-town transportation service provided by Faith in Action in Red Wing and is for individuals receiving radiation treatments for cancer.

The office coordinates with family, church, and public health in assuring the patient has adequate transportation from Red Wing to treatment at Minneapolis or Rochester. For information, call 651-327-2400.
