Board accepts bid from Red Wing Construction
The Red Wing School Board unanimously accepted a bid from Red Wing Construction for $161,613 to remodel part of the Youth Outreach building.
The new space will house the district's new employer-sponsored health clinic. The bid will cover nearly all the work that the building needs, including plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and electrical, district Finance Director Brad Johnson said.
Red Wing Construction's bid was the only one the district received, Johnson said. The district had projected about $157,000 for construction costs.
Construction is slated to begin May 15, Johnson said, and the goal is to have the clinic up and running by June 1.
The board held a special meeting Thursday morning to accept bids. All board members were present.
