Cow milking and calf feeding to be featured at day camp

Body:

Celebrate "June is Dairy Month" and the end of the school year by sending your kids to Day Camp on a Dairy Farm. This year a day camp is set to take place 1-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13. The camp is being held at Triple O Dairy, Inc., 29433 Northfield Blvd., Randolph. The camp is for children 5-12 years old.

Campers can get hands-on experience feeding calves, watch cows being milked, and find out what they eat. Campers will also learn about hog and beef production from Randolph High School Future Farmers of America. Games and crafts, under the direction of Minnesota Farmers Union counselors will be featured. County dairy princesses will be on hand to scoop ice cream and share fun facts about dairy. Cost is $5 per child. Campers are asked to pre-register by June 9. For more information or to pre-register for Day Camp on a Dairy Farm, contact Dori Klein at 507-843-4560 or by email at dori@mfu.org.
