'Guitar Heroes' latest Armadillos tribute
ZUMBROTA — In their latest show, the talent-packed Fabulous Armadillos pay tribute to the great guitar innovators of many genres. "Guitar Heroes (Legends of the Six String)" is a concert for any and all fans of the guitar. Crossings is bringing the show to the State Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
"Guitar Heroes" is a history lesson of guitar legends showcasing many styles of guitar: rock, blues, jazz, country, acoustic and more. A celebration of the six-string and the influential players that inspired and changed the world. In the immortal words of Nigel Tufnel (Spinal Tap), "these go to 11, it's one louder isn't it?"
As always, the Fabulous Armadillos will bring along a wealth of special guests, so they can perform spot-on recreations of the songs. The Fabulous Armadillos' own Paul "Stretch" Diethelm will be a featured performer.
Past Fabulous Armadillos shows include "Lucky Sevens," "Stadium Rock," "The Wrecking Crew," Motown hits and, combined with Collective Unconscious, tributes to the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers.
The core band includes keyboardist Greg "Gary D." Armstrong, who toured worldwide with Bobby Vee and GB Leighton for 15 years; guitarist Diethelm, who toured worldwide with Jonny Lang and opened for The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Sting and many others; bassist Mike Zeleny; Billy Scherer, the amazing singer Eagles tribute audiences heard sing "Desperado" and "New Kid In Town;" and Jay O'Donnell on drums.
