It's ... magic!

Kristoffer Olson presents “An Evening of Comedy and Magic” at 7 p.m. Saturday June 14 at the Sheldon Theatre.

Comedy, magic and juggling artists come together on the Sheldon Theatre stage at next week’s “An Evening of Comedy and Magic” presented by locally-raised magician Kristoffer Olson. The show begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15 and features Olson along with the nationally touring act In Capable Hands.

“This is the 12th show I have produced at the Sheldon after growing up in Red Wing,” Olson said, “and am excited to be able to bring high caliber performers to our local audience each year.”

Olson is well known as a corporate entertainer in the Midwest.

His quick-witted and self-depreciating character drives the family-friendly show with high audience involvement.

Olson performs as a Funny Magician for corporate events, universities, community festivals and conventions for such clients as Mensa, Ordway Center for Performing Arts, Thrivent Financial, Supervalu, Milwaukee Summerfest, University of Minnesota, Treasure Island Casino, and Grand Casino.

He said he is excited about the new addition to his show’s line-up – the juggling duo In Capable Hands.

The duet includes husband/wife team Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw. The two have been featured on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” and most recently Shaw performed on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

The jugglers have been performing together since their 1996 meeting at Clown College, run by Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Drawing inspiration from such varied sources as Dr. Seuss, William Shakespeare and P.D.Q. Bach, the show is meant for all ages.

Following the performance, enjoy a free ice cream social in the Sheldon Theatre Courtyard, featuring local balloon artist David Olson.
