Audition and improvise

Auditions for the WideSpot Players’ spring season community play, “The Mouse that Roared,” will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday Jan. 6 and Tuesday Jan. 7 at WideSpot Performing Arts Center, N2037 Spring St. in Stockholm.

No preparation is necessary. Those auditioning will be asked to do readings from the script. For more information, check the WideSpot Players Facebook page or contact director Pam Larson at 651-528-9518.

Widespot is also offering an “Introduction to Improv” class taught by local improv guru Steve Anderson. This class is based on the Level One curriculum used at the oldest Improv Comedy Theater in the nation, Minneapolis' own Brave New Workshop.

“Intro to Improv Part 1” consists of four two-hour classes beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday Jan. 5 and continuing through Jan. 26.

Part 2 will consist of four more two-hour classes beginning Feb. 2. Class times and dates can be modified if necessary to accommodate the needs of the class attendees.

The tuition for Part 1 is $60 and Part 2 is $50. Classes will be held at the Widespot Performing Arts Center and will be limited to 15 participants, with a minimum of six.

WideSpot pledges to serve the audience by bringing quality arts and community programming to the area and by introducing our local young people to the performing arts.
