Where do you work and what do you love most about your job?
I have worked for Goodhue County Health and Human Services for 30 years. What I love most about my job is that we as an agency all come together in some way each and every day to make a difference in people's lives in Goodhue County.
What's your favorite spot in Goodhue County? Share what makes it special.
I have many favorite spots but in general the parks around Red Wing. Memorial Park, Bay Point, Colvill Park, Central Park with the bandshell ... they are all beautiful and provide so much opportunity for enjoyment for everyone.
If you could spend an hour with any person from local history, who would it be and what would you talk about?
I would want to talk to Alfred Josephson. He opened Josephson's Clothing Store in 1878. The store remained in the Josephson family until 1992 when my husband, Tom, and I bought it. Josephson's is the oldest men's clothing store in Minnesota. I would like to ask Alfred what he considered to be the most important factor in running a successful business in downtown Red Wing.
What's your favorite food, book or movie?
My favorite food is most definitely CHOCOLATE!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am a morning person without a doubt, however, I do still occasionally enjoy staying up late and sleeping in.
What's your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure would be to watch all those shows saved on my DVR while eating lots of chocolate. Maybe I could get rid of that warning that I'm running out of space and need to delete!
Describe a typical day in the life of you ...
Working hard each and every day hoping to carve out some down time to relax at home!
What's your favorite local tradition or event?
The Holiday Stroll. It has been a big part of our family for many years. It brings people from all over the state and is a wonderful community event.
Who is your hero?
My husband. He has been through so many challenges and yet nothing gets in his way to be caring and thoughtful each and every day. He always has a positive attitude and shows his strength in everything he does. He inspires me as well as many others.
What's your all-time favorite song?
"Let It Be Me"
